Subject: Safety during employment abroad

Dear NRI Online,

I have received an appointment in middle east. I will be going abroad for the first time.

I am informed that sometimes employers do not pay terminal benefits like gratuity, bonus etc. Can you suggest what course of action can be taken in such case?

I am also told that some employers do not give No Objection Certificate. Is it not a human right to get this. Again suggest course of action in this case also.

Also passports have to be deposited with employer. Is this safe?

Please advice me.
