Meet Sandeep Singh Baloria...

1. Why did you leave India?
I am currently working in the United Kingdom, got a job offer and came here.

2. Do you plan to return to India to settle down?
Yes. I would like to live in my home town of jammu..

3. What do you like most about being abroad?
The clean environment, good oppurtunities and good money.

4. What do like least about being abroad?
Home sickness, boredom, not many friends.

5. Would you be concerned about raising your family outside India?
Yes I would be.

6. What are your thoughts about marrying outside your immediate community, someone who speaks a different language or practices a different religion?
I do not have any compulsions, but my family will not accept it. So it is better marry in my own religion.

7. What would be the first thing you would do if you became the Prime Minister of India?
Construct better roads and improve education. Improve the working standard so as to bring more benefits to the poor.

8. What do you think are India's greatest strengths?(max 3)
Large number of english speaking graduates, very hardworking labour force, multicultural society.

9. What do you think are the biggest problems facing India? (max 3)
1. Terrorism
2. Unemployment
3. Aids/HIV

10. Do you think that a presidential form of government would better serve the needs of India's democracy?
I don't think so.

11. For whom do you have the highest regard amongst living Indians?
Mr Vajpayee....(he is king among pawns)

12. Do you think that the national obsession with Cricket has helped or has it hurt India as a sporting nation?
I think it has helped. At least in some sport we do well.

13. What do you think are India's greatest achievements since Independence? (max 3)?
Going nuclear, achievements by ISRO in space, Indian software expertise, growing Indian economy.

14. What is your favourite pastime?
On the net surfing.

15. What is your happiest memory?
When I got my job in the U.K.

16. What's your most memorable journey?
It was from Delhi to Mangalore in the car via the Konkan highways.

17. What is your ultimate food dish?
I am a chef, basically I like pasta's.

18. What are your favourite movies? (max 3)
1. Kuch kuch hota hai
2. Baazigar
3. Border

19. What are your favourite books (please list authors as well)? (max 3)
Authors; Gordon ramsay, Jamie oliver and Tarla dalal.
